Spector is a guitar and bass brand started in 1974 by Stuart Spector in New York.

Initially, Vinny Fodera, who would later found Fodera Guitars, also worked in the Spector workshop.

The brand's NS models gained explosive popularity worldwide, and these were created in collaboration with Ned Steinberger.

While the brand has models made in Asia and the USA, this particular one is made in Czechoslovakia.

The NS-4CR is a model mainly produced during the SSD brand era.

SSD stands for Stuart Spector Design.

This logo existed between 1991 and 1998, when the Kramer logo could no longer be used due to the company's bankruptcy.

This particular Spector model, with its Spector logo, was likely produced between 1998 and the early 2000s, after the SSD brand era.

Based on the logo and serial number specifications, it is estimated to be from 1999.

While it's a niche item, this specification is known for its extremely limited production run. The body and neck are made of maple with a neck-through construction, and the fingerboard is likely rosewood.
The high-density maple wood, connected via a neck-through construction, provides a tight, fast attack and rich sustain with minimal decay.

It's equipped with EMG PJ-type pickups.

The preamp likely uses an original active circuit.

The combination with the clear, noiseless EMG pickups allows for precise control of Spector's characteristic powerful tone with just your hands.

Sound-wise, it features a deep low end and the transparent treble characteristic of EMG pickups.

The high-mid harmonic content is particularly clear, boasting overwhelming speed and massive projection that maintains pitch accuracy even in fast phrases and heavy arrangements.

This is a highly practical instrument that is a great match for players who want both powerful energy and precise pitch accuracy.

The frets have approximately 75% remaining. The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck has a paint chip of about 20mm on the side of the neck near the 1st fret on the bass string side. Those who grip the guitar tightly might find this slightly bothersome (it's right where the thumb would be). There's also a paint chip of about 25mm on the headstock. There are traces of what appears to have been a heart sticker on the top inlay.

The body and paintwork show significant signs of use, including scratches and dents.

The electronics are in good condition.

Two knobs have been replaced.
