Description & Condition

A.S.P. GEAR is a Japanese effects pedal brand.

The designer is a strong geek, and from a truly meticulous perspective, creates beautiful products that shine with universal value.

They have a reputation for producing truly niche effects pedals that combine the functionality bassists demand with the cool sounds they dream of.

Tetsuya Teyan of Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas and Yoshio Kuroyanagi of SOPHIA are known to be fans of the brand's products.

This is the TRIBAL GEYSER, which provides an aggressive drive sound and flexible EQ.

As a collaboration with GIB, it has a high-quality, simple look.

GIB conveyed to A.S.P. GEAR that "the strong drive sound with unreserved EQ boost has an irreplaceable appeal."

After discussions, it was decided that this GIB Limited model would only have EQ boost, rather than boost/cut.

By eliminating the cut function, it's now possible to create more delicate sounds using the full range of the knob.

The TRIBAL GEYSER is an evolution of the TRIBAL AMP preamp.

The TRIBAL AMP is modeled after the sound of GK-style bass amplifiers.

Therefore, the basic sound has a strong low-mid range, and the high frequencies are clear and powerful.

While this alone is excellent, the TRIBAL GEYSER adds an even more aggressive drive section.

With the desire to specialize it more as a drive pedal, the EQ has been changed to boost-only, as mentioned above.

The EQ is a 4-band configuration: LOW (60Hz), LoM (250Hz), HiM (1kHz), HIGH (4kHz).

The low frequencies are slightly higher at 60Hz, and the HIGH is 4kHz, which is also set in Bartolini TCT-style pedals, which is something that bassists will appreciate.

I personally agree with this setting, and in fact, when we design EQs for bass, we never leave out these two points.

The fact that LoM and HiM are at 250Hz and 1kHz is also excellent.

250Hz adds sustain, and 1kHz adds attack strength.

Around 500Hz tends to create a muddy sound, so I personally appreciate that this range is avoided.

Boosting these four EQ frequencies naturally creates a dip around 500Hz.

The BITE switch gives a very similar impression; when turned on, it feels like it significantly suppresses the 500Hz range.

The drive section is simply DRIVE and MIX.

This drive adds trebly without losing low frequencies, with a slight compression and a rich harmonic richness.

Overall, it's a modern, well-balanced, high-quality drive pedal that can create a highly unique sound.

You'll truly appreciate its charm if you play it yourself while adjusting the knobs.

It's especially well-suited for basses with two pickups, such as JBs.

Highly recommended.

Please give it a try.

While there are slight signs of use on the exterior, the overall condition is beautiful. It functions perfectly.

GIB's craftsmen will rigorously inspect each item before delivery.
