The Precision Bass, the world's first fretted solid-body electric bass, instantly captivated bassists worldwide. Its brilliance remains unchanged and it continues to be loved even more than half a century after its creation.

The bass evolved from its original form, known as the Original Precision Bass, to the familiar look we see today in the 1950s.

This is a Precision Bass manufactured in 1978.

It has been modified with a PJ layout.

The neck pickup date is ⚪︎⚪︎3478, the bridge pickup pot date (the pot corresponding to the volume in the P layout) is 1377831, and the neck date is 01033484.

The year was determined from other specifications.

The body is likely ash, and the fretboard is maple, a typical 70s configuration.
The walnut is also a distinctive feature.

The neck pickup is the original gray bobbin.

The added bridge pickup appears to be an 81-year-old gray bobbin, based on the date.

Currently, the controls consist of neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, and master tone.

The PJ layout was popular around the 80s, likely due to the influence of guitarists like Chuck Rainey.

It has been refretted and renutted.

Therefore, there is plenty of fret life left, and the neck is in excellent condition.

It can be used for many years to come.

The powerful, tight low end and bright attack are characteristic of Precision Basses from this era.

Combined with the added J-type pickup on the bridge, it also boasts a crisp, articulate tone.

Fret life is approximately 90%.

The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition. The 2nd string tuning machine is slightly stiff when turning, but there are no problems with its operation.
The body and paintwork show overall scratches, and there are scattered dents ranging from 5.0 to 15.0 mm. In addition to a noticeable paint chip of about 90.0 mm, there are other noticeable paint chips scattered throughout.
The electronics are in good condition.
The guitar has been refretted and the nut replaced. It has been converted to a PJ type with an added bridge pickup. Therefore, additional potentiometers have been added to the control section. Some wiring has been replaced with Belden wire.
