K.Nyui is a brand produced by Kazuhiko Nyui, a renowned builder at PGM Factory.
This is a custom-made 4-string bass based on the JB style, featuring a PP (Ply-Ply) pickup layout.
The body is made of alder, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
In addition to the classic wood combination, the beautiful grain of the alder is highlighted by a see-through blue finish, creating a luxurious and impressive look.
The neck pickup is likely a Bartolini 8S, and the bridge pickup is an original.
The most distinctive feature is the PP layout, which incorporates two PB-style split-coil pickups.
This proven configuration, also seen in MTD models, delivers a thick and powerful sound from each pickup individually, and a clear and crisp tone when mixed.
With a rich low-mid range and extended, silky highs, the sound is versatile enough to be used in any genre.
This PGM bass boasts exceptional playability and meticulous craftsmanship, resulting in a unique yet highly practical instrument.
Fret life is approximately 65%.
The truss rod moves more than 90 degrees, but its effectiveness is somewhat limited.
The neck shows a slight upward bow. It is playable with a string height of 2.8mm-2.3mm.
The body and paintwork show fine scratches and minor dents throughout.
The electronics are in good condition.
The neck pickup has been replaced with a Bartolini.
