Description & Condition

Fujigen is a guitar factory that Japan proudly presents to the world.

Highly regarded globally, it has manufactured guitars for numerous brands, including Fender, on an OEM basis.

This is FGN, Fujigen's original brand.

This particular model is the JMP2B, a Mighty Power model from FGN's renowned J-Standard series, boasting high punch and distinctive specifications.

The body is made of ash, while the neck and fretboard are made of maple.

This classic combination delivers a fast attack and a crisp, punchy sound.

The finish is Open Pore Black, which leaves the wood grain unfilled.

The rugged look, which allows you to directly feel the powerful grain of the ash, is incredibly cool, and because the finish is extremely thin, you can directly experience the wood's natural, open, and rich resonance.

The most distinctive feature of this instrument is undoubtedly the PP layout, which features two reverse-configured split-coil pickups.

Unlike a standard PB, the coils for the 4th and 3rd strings are positioned closer to the bridge, while those for the 2nd and 1st strings are positioned closer to the neck.
This reverse arrangement emphasizes the attack of the lower strings, resulting in a tighter, more focused sound. Conversely, the often-thinner higher strings gain a moderate thickness and fullness, resulting in a very well-balanced sound across all strings.

Of course, it also employs FGN's proprietary Circle Fretting System (C.F.S.).
By ensuring that each string and fret intersects at a right angle, it achieves clear articulation in single notes, rich sustain, and exceptional clarity that never gets lost in an ensemble.

The high-precision construction, characteristic of Japanese-made instruments, including meticulous fret edge finishing, is also present, allowing you to play with confidence even in demanding live environments.

The sound produces a powerful, punchy tone with a strong midrange.

The wall-of-sound pressure when distorted with a pick, and the aggressive tone with clearly defined bass strings when slapping, are truly privileges unique to this bass's specifications.

While retaining traditional elements, this is a practical instrument that maximizes the power and sharpness required in modern, loud settings.

For those looking for a rock bass with a powerful presence that can lead the ensemble, this will undoubtedly be the perfect partner.

Fret life is approximately 90%.
