Description & Condition

Musicman emerged as Leo Fender's second brand and became beloved by bassists worldwide.
Many artists, including Louis Johnson and Flea, are known to use their basses. (Titles omitted)

The Stingray is a classic model that enjoys overwhelming popularity within the brand.
Alongside Fender's Jazz Bass and Precision Bass, it's safe to say it's one of the most popular basses in the world.

This particular instrument is from 1989.
It has several modifications.

The body is made of ash.
The neck and fretboard are maple.

The body has been refinished with a slightly rough-textured paint.
There is also paint chipping on the body top, likely from slap bass playing.

This suggests that the instrument has been used for many years.

The pickups have been replaced with Saymour Duncan SMB-4A pickups.
They use Alnico magnets and produce a warm sound.

The preamp has been replaced with a Saymour Duncan STC-3M4 Music Man Active Preamp.

The E-string tuning machine has been replaced with a HIPSHOT D-Tuner.

It boasts the powerful, punchy low end and crisp attack characteristic of a StingRay.

With its 3-band EQ, it offers a wide range of sound shaping possibilities, producing a distinctive sound in various genres, including rock and funk.

The frets have approximately 70% remaining.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

The body and paintwork have been refinished. The paint texture is rough.

There is a paint chip of about 8cm on the body top, likely from slapping.

There is a hole near the headstock logo, possibly from a string guide.

Overall, there are signs of use, and the metal parts show some tarnishing.

The electronics are in good condition.

The E string tuning peg has been replaced with a HIPSHOT D-tuner.

The pickup has been replaced with a Saymour Duncan SMB-4A.
