Yamaha is a Japanese equivalent of Gibson, having supported the industry since the early days of guitar making.
Many top-tier musicians, including Nathan East and John Patitucci, use Yamaha basses. (Titles omitted)
This is the Attitude Limited, known as Billy Sheehan's signature model.
While there are several types of Attitude basses, this is the original Attitude Limited.
The body is made of alder, and the neck and fretboard are made of maple.
The pickups are "YBDW-1WC" by DiMarzio and "YBDP-1BC" by DiMarzio.
This pickup layout, combining a woofer-like humbucker in the neck position with a P-style pickup, is characteristic of Billy Sheehan's sound.
The neck pickup adds a deep, thick low end, while the P-style pickup delivers a punchy midrange and clear attack.
Furthermore, it's possible to output each pickup separately, supporting the bi-amping approach used by Billy Sheehan himself, where low frequencies and definition are handled separately.
The neck pickup also features a high-cut switch, allowing for sound shaping to suit the ensemble while utilizing its unique fullness.
This guitar combines the powerful individuality characteristic of Billy Sheehan's signature models with the high level of craftsmanship typical of Yamaha.
The frets have approximately 60% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork have minor scratches and small dents. Some screws are rusted.
The electronics have some slight crackling in various parts, but output and operation are fine and the guitar is playable.
No obvious modifications were observed.
