It's loved by countless top artists, including James Jamerson, Bobby Vega, and Michael League. (Titles omitted)
The Jazz Bass was released as a higher-end model than the Precision Bass.
Its sharp and clear sound has been loved by many bassists for a long time, and it continues to receive overwhelming support today, recognized as a classic.
This is a 1997 American Standard 5-string Jazz Bass.
It features a distinctive headstock with 5-in-line tuning machines, and has recently shown signs of a resurgence in popularity.
The body is made of alder.
The neck is maple, and the fretboard is pau ferro.
The pickups are likely original.
This instrument has undergone various modifications.
The controls are master volume, balancer, and master tone.
All the potentiometers have been replaced; the volume and tone pots are CTS, and the balancer pot is Alpha. The capacitor has been replaced with a VIMA box-type film capacitor (0.047μF).
The tuning machines are reliable GOTOH GB-7s.
The bridge is a HIPSHOT B-Style.
It appears to be designed so that string-through-body mounting is not possible.
The jack is a Pure Tone, boasting high holding power with its 4-point support.
Typical Fender guitars have strong bass and punchy treble, delivering a powerful sound with a slightly tighter, more manageable feel.
The frets have approximately 70% remaining.
The truss rod is stiff, but approximately 90 degrees of movement has been confirmed.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork show numerous dents and scratches. There are signs that the bridge screw holes have been filled.
The electronics are in good condition.
The bridge has been replaced with a GOTOH 404BO-5, and the tuning machines with GOTOH GB-7s. All potentiometers have been replaced; the volume and tone pots are CTS, and the balancer pot is an Alpha. The capacitors have been replaced with VIMA box-type film capacitors (0.047μF). The jack has been replaced with a Pure Tone jack.
