Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Sire became famous for releasing basses supervised by Marcus Miller.
The quality of their guitars and basses is extremely high, and they are highly regarded not only by Marcus Miller fans but also by a wider audience.
This model is the V5 24.
It's a model that incorporates a 24-fret specification into the vintage-like sound of the conventional V5 series.
The body is made of alder.
To ensure playability in the higher positions, it has a deeper cutaway compared to conventional models.
The neck is made of roasted maple with a satin finish.
This is also known as thermowood.
Thermowood, which was commercialized in the musical instrument field by Sago of Japan, was originally used in Finland as a building material for saunas.
Thermowood is valued as a wood that can withstand high temperatures and humidity, and its usefulness for musical instruments is evident from its adoption by top manufacturers such as Sadowsky and Suhr.
It seems that a certain amount of thermowood is discarded during the processing.
It's likely that any guitars that might warp in the future will be filtered out here.
The fretboard is made of rosewood.
The edges are nicely rounded, aiming to improve playability.
Most players will likely have a positive impression of this specification.
The pickup placement is the same as a 70's Fender JB.
This produces a unique, tight, and powerful sound.
The controls are simple: 2 Volume, 1 Tone.
It features a sound rich in harmonics and a powerful midrange with a moderate amount of compression.
The balance, despite being a 24-fret guitar, is also appealing, as it doesn't become too tight.
It retains the high playability characteristic of Sire and the vintage-like feel of the V5, while being arranged to fit a wider range of players.
