Moon is a leading, long-established guitar brand in Japan.
Many musicians, including Mitsuru Sudo and Larry Gragham, are known to use Moon basses. (Titles omitted)
This is the MBC, a classic modern-style bass.
The body is made of alder.
The neck is made of maple and likely mahogany laminate.
The fretboard is made of ebony.
Such a deep black ebony is extremely rare these days.
The string spacing is narrow.
The pickups are Bartolini, and the preamp is a Bartolini TBT.
The TBT is rarely seen these days, but it's Bartolini's most classic model.
It features a very smooth attack and beautiful harmonics.
It has a wonderful modern sound, different from the nuances of a JB bass.
The frets have approximately 70% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork show some slight tarnishing on the hardware. There are scattered dents and scratches on the body. There are three paint cracks and chips of approximately 10.0mm on the side of the body, and a paint chip and dent of approximately 20.0mm near the endpin. There are also some small dents on the neck.
The electronics are in good condition.
The headstock and body have different colors, suggesting a possible refinish.
