Description & Condition

Fender is, of course, the number one brand of electric guitars and basses.

It's loved by countless top artists, including James Jamerson, Bobby Vega, and Michael League. (Titles omitted)

The Precision Bass, introduced in 1951 as the world's first fretted solid-body electric bass, has been loved by bassists worldwide for over half a century.

This is a Precision Bass manufactured in 1967.

The neck end is stamped "5 DEC 67 C".

The volume and tone pots have been replaced with current CTS parts, and the jack with a current SWITHCRAFT part; therefore, the age was determined by considering the overall specifications.

The body is alder, and the fingerboard is round-laminated rosewood—popular specifications.

The paint has been stripped, revealing a natural finish.

The original paint appears to be sunburst.

The pickups are black bobbins.

While gray bobbins were common in 1967, the presence of original black bobbin pickups suggests this instrument likely retains its original pickups.

The lead wires have been replaced.

The frets have been refretted, and the nut has been replaced accordingly.

The current condition is very good.

In addition, there appear to be many other replaced parts, including the tuning machines, john plate, and pickguard.

Several repairs have been made, but this is precisely what contributes to its high playability.

The thick, open sound, typical of a Precision Bass, is truly captivating.

Yet, it possesses the speed and clarity characteristic of the mid-60s.

It has the strength to stand out even in modern ensembles.

The strings bounce on the fretboard, and the sound spreads throughout the instrument, creating a very pleasant playing feel that makes you want to keep playing.

Approximately 70% of the frets remain.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

The body and paintwork show minor scratches, dents, and paint chips. There is a signature on the back of the body. The 19th fret inlay is missing.

The electronics are in good condition.

The guitar has been refretted and re-nutted. The body color has been refinished. The tuning machines have been replaced. The potentiometers, jack, and capacitors have been replaced. The wiring has also been replaced accordingly. Some bridge saddles have been replaced. The pickguard has been replaced. The neck plate has been replaced.
