Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Ken Smith is a renowned brand of high-end electric basses based in Pennsylvania, New York.
The company is also known for developing the world's first 6-string bass and designing tapered core strings, making it a pioneer in modern bass design.
This model features a body shape called BSR.
The BSR is a model well-suited for bassists performing live, and is known to be used by musicians such as Marcus Miller and Melvin Davis. (Titles omitted)
This is the BSR4EG-FW.
Manufactured in 2014.
While multi-string models are common, this instrument is a somewhat rare 4-string model.
The body wing top is made of Flame Walnut, the body wing back is Walnut, and the core is Mahogany.
It features a neck-through joint, and the neck is a 5-piece laminate type primarily made of maple.
The technique of laminating multiple pieces of wood to create the neck reduces left-right and individual differences, resulting in greater stability.
The fingerboard is Macassar Ebony.
Precise woodworking and an ultra-thin finish using a uniquely formulated oil achieve a balance of weight and resonance.
The pickups are original dual-coil pickups.
Each can be switched between series and parallel.
The preamp is original.
Ken Smith's unique pickup and preamp design results in an extremely smooth and easy-to-use EQ response, making it a tone design that is immediately useful in both live performances and recordings.
This instrument is a high-level fusion of Ken Smith's craftsmanship and acoustic design philosophy, and will fully demonstrate its true value in professional settings.
