Anaconda Basses is a UK-based bass brand that has gained exceptional recognition in recent years, particularly in Europe and the US.
This Ultra J Essence series underwent a complete redesign in 2024, resulting in further improvements.
The body is made of alder, and the fingerboard is maple.
This combination is characterized by a light and airy midrange.
The pickups are original.
They offer a moderate amount of compression while maintaining a wide range and rich midrange.
The hum-canceling design and low noise are also major advantages.
The preamp is an AC3-TZ Active 3-Band Preamp.
Controls include volume/passive tone, balancer, middle (push-pull frequency band switching 250/800Hz), treble/bass.
This preamp has a very unique and high-quality character.
It outputs the vast low end, crisp midrange, and punchy treble that bassists need.
The pickguard has been replaced with an acrylic one, and the bridge has been replaced with a HIPSHOT 5 String KickAss Bass Bridge.
Looking at the bassists who use this bass, many are gospel and R&B bassists, and after listening to the sound, it's easy to see why. It truly has a BASS CHOPS nuance.
