Description & Condition
HEX Guitars is a South Korea-based brand specializing in entry-level to mid-range guitars.
They own their own factory in Indonesia and manufacture their products themselves.
This sets them apart from brands that typically use OEM manufacturing.
Their passion is evident in the fact that the boss himself is involved in the production process, resulting in guitars of a surprisingly high quality for their price point.
The NB300 is the base model for their newly launched "NEXT SERIES."
It features modern and comprehensive specifications, including a 30" short scale, stainless steel frets, and a laminated neck.
The refined body shape is crafted from Indonesian Mahogany.
The neck utilizes a laminated design of Maple and Walnut.
By laminating several pieces of wood to form the neck, left-right asymmetry is minimized, resulting in high stability and robustness.
The fingerboard is made of Indian Laurel, with a relatively flat 12-inch radius.
The neck shape is relatively thin, a slim C-shape.
The frets are made of stainless steel.
Stainless steel is characterized by its lack of tarnishing and high hardness.
Stainless steel frets are popular because they retain their shine indefinitely and are extremely resistant to wear.
They are also used by high-end guitar brands such as Suhr Guitars.
The pickups are original humbucking type.
They use original pickups in many of their models.
This is not for cost-cutting, but because they have confidence in the quality of their self-designed pickups.
The staff, who know music and play music regularly, thoroughly research many elements such as magnets, wires, and bobbins to design them.
The balance when held is very good, and even those who usually play Fenders will likely find the HEX NB difficult to play.
No headless-specific strings are required; the same strings as for general basses (Jazz Bass or Precision Bass) can be used.
It is also very lightweight, which is another key point.
It has a clean, crisp sound typical of a headless guitar, yet it doesn't lose its musical harmonics or rich bass.
The basic quality of the neck is extremely high, resulting in excellent playability; it's difficult to say it's inferior to more expensive instruments.
Looks, playability, and sound—all are of high quality, making it a truly superb product.
You might be put off by the headless design, but I highly recommend trying it out for yourself.
You'll likely be surprised by its high quality.
The frets have approximately 80% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
There are minor scratches on the body and paintwork. There is a small paint chip on the headstock.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were observed.
