Sadowsky TYO is a custom line of the Sadowsky brand, manufactured in Japan.

This is the Modern Edge, a standard model from the Sadowsky TYO line.

The body is made of solid ash, and the fingerboard is maple—popular specifications.

This particular instrument has undergone numerous practical modifications.

The pickups have been replaced with EMG SJ5 and LJ5.

All potentiometers have also been replaced, and the controls have been streamlined to volume, balance, treble, and bass. A mini-switch has been added for instant switching between active and passive modes.

In terms of hardware, the tuning machines have been replaced with the highly-regarded HIPSHOT HB1, and the bridge has been replaced with a robust and high-mass Schaller 3-D4BL.

EMG pickups, with their characteristic low noise and wide-range output characteristics, deliver an extremely clear tone that captures every nuance of the player's fingertips.

The preamp features Sadowsky's original 2-band circuit, and the brand's signature sparkling highs and powerful lows are further amplified when combined with the EMG's active sound.

Combined with a tight attack and rich sustain, it produces a very modern and cutting sound, from the crisp, refreshing attack of slap bass to the fat, core tone of fingerstyle playing.

Building upon Sadowsky TYO's renowned craftsmanship, this instrument has evolved into a highly functional machine with even less noise and overwhelming sound pressure, thanks to the incorporation of EMG pickups, Sadowsky's original preamp, and robust components.

From demanding live stages to rigorous recording sessions, this reliable instrument delivers stable performance regardless of the environment. The frets have approximately 80% remaining.

The pickups have been replaced with EMG SJ5 and LJ5. All the potentiometers have been replaced, and an active/passive mini-switch has been added. The battery box has been relocated to the outside of the cavity with a newly routed cavity. The tuning machines have been replaced with HIPSHOT HB1s. The bridge has been replaced with a Schaller 3-D4BL. The pickguard has been replaced. Accordingly, the original pickguard screw holes have been filled and redrilled. The tension pins have also been replaced.
