Description & Condition
Spector is a guitar and bass brand started in 1974 in New York by Stuart Spector.
Initially, Vinny Fodera, who would later found Fodera Guitars, also worked at the Spector workshop.
The brand's NS models gained explosive popularity worldwide, and these were created in collaboration with Ned Steinberger.
The Euro LX is a modern model based on the NS design, with contemporary updates.
As you can see, the design is completely different from Fender, but the three-dimensional curved body fits the body exceptionally well, providing perfect balance whether standing or sitting.
Holding it reveals a very refined balance.
The string vibration system is well controlled, resulting in excellent playability.
The Japan Exclusive series refers to models custom-ordered for the Japanese market.
In other words, it's a Japan-only model.
This model is a special Euro 5 LX, produced in limited quantities: 12 units with 4 or 5 strings, and 4 units with only 5 strings.
First, its most distinctive feature is the aged lacquer finish.
While many basses from this brand have a glossy, hard finish, this model boasts a very thin coating and the subtle sheen characteristic of lacquer finishes.
This variation in the finish not only affects the look but also significantly impacts the sound.
While retaining the clear and straightforward tone typical of Spector basses, the sound exhibits a more complex harmonic richness in the mid-range and a traditionally extended high-frequency range.
The body top is made of high-quality 4A grade Flame Maple.
It is finished in Tinted Natural, which fully showcases the wood grain.
The body back is Uropean Alder, and the neck is a 3-piece Maple with carbon reinforcement.
These are joined using a neck-through construction.
The fingerboard is Pau Ferro.
It is equipped with EMG pickups.
It boasts clear articulation and clarity, while retaining the inherent acoustic richness and strong sound pressure of a bass guitar.
This is a characteristic and excellent point of this brand, and it's of very high quality.
The preamp is the newly developed Spector Legacy.
This was developed in collaboration with Darkglass Electronics.
Spector has previously used original Tone Pump and Darkglass Electronics Tone Capsule as standard preamps.
In that sense, I think this Spector Legacy is the perfect preamp that matches the style of this Euro.
When pushed, you feel a strong sound pressure, yet it maintains a hard, solid overall tone without distortion.
The sound obtained through superior electronics is characterized by clear articulation and clarity.
Yet, the organic sound image is a charm that comes from this overall configuration.
