Rickenbacker is one of the most traditional guitar brands, enjoying enduring support from musicians worldwide to this day.

This model is the 4001, a historically significant instrument.

The 4001 is a higher-end model that added pickups to the 4000, the company's first model, and is the predecessor to the current flagship model, the 4003.

Many historical musicians, including Paul McCartney (The Beatles), Chris Squire (Yes), and Cliff Burton (Metallica), have used the 4001, which has taken the world by storm.

This particular guitar was manufactured in 1978.

While some of the pot dates are hidden by solder, the engravings read "R1377●", "R1377●", "R13778", and "●●●78".

These markings were used to determine the year of manufacture.

The body and neck are made of maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.

It features a neck-through construction.

The neck pickup is original, and the bridge pickup has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan R1BJ.

We have refretted the guitar, replaced the nut, and refinished the fretboard.

It is in perfect condition and ready for long-term use.

Due to the maple through-neck construction and body, it features a distinctive dense low-end.

However, it doesn't become too dark; the slight compression and open nuance are major attractions of the Rickenbacker 4001.

With its unique looks and specifications, yet fully fulfilling the requirements of a bass guitar, this instrument should perform well in heavy ensembles, pop, R&B, and across various genres.

The frets have approximately 95% remaining.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

There are some dents and scratches on the body and paintwork. There is a large paint chip and evidence of drilling on the back of the body. There are signs of drilling near the strap pins.

The guitar has been refretted, and the nut and fretboard have been replaced at our shop. The bridge set screws have been replaced. The bridge pickup has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan R1BJ.

The Rick O' Sound output is a dummy jack. Some wiring modifications have been made accordingly. The standard output functions the same as the original.

Rewiring is possible if necessary.
