Stem is a brand developed by Sago New Material Guitars, a handmade brand based in the Kansai region of Japan.
It occupies a position between Sago, which specializes in custom-order instruments, and Seed, which achieves high quality through excellent quality control while keeping costs down through overseas production.
By standardizing the specifications and body shapes, Stem is known for producing models that offer a taste of Sago's high quality while keeping costs reasonable.
This model is the Stem version of the Ove, one of Sago's signature models.
The body is made of 2-piece Alder, with a Rosewood fingerboard.
It is a classic combination that offers a rich midrange.
The neck is made of Hard Maple.
The pickups are original L(x)LJB-1 units.
These are standard pickups that are also used as standard equipment on higher-end models.
The Turbo Switch connects the neck and bridge pickups in series.
A Providence Vitalizer-B1 has also been added inside the cavity.
The bridge and tuning machines are made by GOTOH, with no compromises made in the hardware.
The sound has the distinctive low-end impact characteristic of Sago.
In addition, while offering a wide modern frequency range, it also produces a rich and well-defined midrange, allowing it to blend seamlessly into an ensemble.
