Description & Condition

Kikuchi Guitars is a new high-end brand created by Yoshiyuki Kikuchi (and Okada International), who has earned the utmost trust from many professional bassists, particularly for his work with Sadowsky basses.

This model is based on the renowned JB, refining his previous work to create a more modern bass.

As all are custom models, there are no fixed woods, but weight is of particular importance for the body, and some woods are chambered.

This particular guitar has a chambered alder body.

It has a Charcoal Frost Metallic finish.

The neck is maple and the fingerboard is Indian rosewood.

The tuners and bridge are HIPSHOT.

The pickups are split-coil types manufactured by DiMarzio.

This is similar to the ones used when the Sadowsky Metroline was made in Japan.

Notable features include low noise and a treble sound.

The preamp is a custom type designed by EMG specifically for this model.
It has a simple specification that only boosts bass and treble.
And it fits perfectly, as you'd expect.

When boosting, the mid-range recession peaks exquisitely, tightening up the bass with a stylish finish.
And yet, it doesn't lose its bass-like character and retains its beautiful overtones.
It eloquently demonstrates the meaning of boosting with a 2-band EQ.

Controls include volume, balance, tone (preamp bypass with push/pull switch), and treble/bass.

The string height is extremely low when shipped, and even in this state, the strings have a large amount of flex, eliminating any strange issues in any position.

The precision of the neck, which has long been particularly highly praised, is excellent, and its quality is fully demonstrated.

The neck shape is narrow.

It is characterized by an extremely fast, speedy playing feel.
Yet it still boasts ample bass and a rich, treble-heavy sound.

This is a supreme instrument, made possible only by Kikuchi, a modern bassist.

Approximately 90% of the frets remain.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

The body and finish have some minor scratches, but are generally clean.

The electrical system is in good condition.

The strap pins have been replaced with Jim Dunlop ones.

Controls: Master volume, balancer, master tone (push/pull - active/passive), treble/bass

Nut width: 37.7mm
Bridge string spacing: 20.0mm
Scale: 34 inches
Year of manufacture: Unknown
Country of manufacture: Japan

D'addario EXL, trusted by professional musicians, was used for setup.
Characterized by a powerful attack and rich overtones, these strings truly deserve to be called a standard.

These high-quality strings maximize the performance and character of your instrument, so please enjoy them together.

GIB craftsmen will tune them for optimal playability before shipping.
