The Precision Bass was born in 1951 as the world's first fretted solid-body electric bass, and for over 70 years since then, it has remained the standard bass, supported by players worldwide.
This model is the Classic Series '50s Precision Bass Lacquer, modeled after the late 1950s Precision Bass.
It features vintage-like wood materials, with an alder body and a maple neck and fingerboard.
The finish is lacquer.
The lacquer finish is appealing because it gains character and patina with use.
It's equipped with original Vintage-Style Split Single-Coil pickups.
The thick, solid low end and open, clear midrange are pleasing, delivering the quintessential Precision Bass sound.
