Description & Condition
Momose, based in Matsumoto, Nagano, produces high quality basses and guitars.
Momose basses and guitars are known for their beautiful looks and excellent sound.
Momose basses are popular among professionals and are used by top musicians such as Kazuki Isogai and Kyohei Ariga.
The MJ Five is an ambitious work based on the traditional JB style, incorporating unique design details.
When we used it this time, there was a problem around the frets.
We decided to make it fretless in order to match the sound character of the instrument.
In addition, the PU was replaced with a German Delano JC 5 AL imported by GIB.
This PU is made in a very classic configuration, but with Delano's typical neatness.
The result of these mods is a great solution.
The tightness typical of Momose matches perfectly with the warm nuances of the fretless.
The body is ash and the fingerboard is Madagascar rosewood.
The sound is pleasantly clean and clear as ash, and the result is a very modern fretless JB that is beautiful and neat.
Thankfully, GIB's fretless process has been very well received.
I think that this case is a wonderful one that makes full use of the high quality of GIB's fretless processing.
Please try it for yourself.
Naturally, the condition around the neck is superbly prepared by GIB standards.
The truss rod operation and the neck are in good condition.
There are a few 1~2mm dents on the tip of the head.
The condition of the body and painted surfaces is scattered with some hardly noticeable scratches and small dings.
There is a green stain on the body end that may have been caused by contact with something.
The electrical system is in good condition.
