The maple neck is made of quarter-sawn maple wood used by high-end brands such as Suhr.
It is a rare and expensive wood from which only 10-15% of one log can be obtained, and is sometimes said to be sturdier, more resistant to environmental changes, and more stable than board-grain maple wood.
It has a shape called a conical fingerboard, in which the fingerboard radius changes to flat from the low to high frets.
This allows for a comfortable sound even when the string height is lowered, without clogging up the sound overall.
The fret edges are beautifully handled, and the unique neck joint makes the overall playing feel stress-free.
Race Sensor pickups are used in the HSH layout.
