Pink FloydやBlack Sabbath、Foo Fighters、The Who、といったアーティストがAshdownを愛用していることで知られています。
この度弊社が輸入代理店となり、多くの製品を展開していくことになりました。
彼らは元々がアンプブランドなのでアンプのイメージが強いかと思いますが実はエフェクター、ベース、ヘッドフォンなどもラインナップしています。
特にベースに関してはデザインを担当しているのがLaklandの創業者であるDan Lakin。
本気度が伺えます。
製造は韓国で行っています。
アジアで製造を行い、ハードウェアにコストをかけ、価格を抑えながらも高い品質を実現する手法は現在欧米ではトレンドになっています。（Reverend Guitars, Anaconda Basses, Bassmodsなどのように）
本モデルはリバースのサンダーバードのようなシェイプを持つ、Lowrider Bassです。
木材はボディがアルダー、ネックがメイプル、指板がローズウッドと昔ながらのチョイス。
軽量な木材を選んで使用しており、どの個体も重量は3kg台後半から4kg台前半に収められています。
ピックアップは大型のハムバッキングタイプを2基搭載します。
フロントはネックに、リアはブリッジにかなり近い配置です。
だからこそ、それぞれのキャラクターは明確に違い、またミックス時のグッとプッシュ感のあるサウンドが得られます。
フィンガーでもピックでも、どちらでも十分な低音を持ちながら輪郭のあるサウンドを出力。
HIPSHOTチューニングキー、WILKINSONブリッジを搭載。
ハードウェアの重要性を理解しているからこそ、この点もコストを惜しまずに使っていることが伺えます。
比較的軽量であることも特徴的で、これは実際に演奏を行うミュージシャンたちにとって大きな魅力かと思います。
アウトレット表記での販売ですが、実際にはメーカーから新品として仕入れた新品商品です。
それではなぜアウトレットで表記しているのかというと、ペグが傾いている個体があったり、少し塗装の垂れがある個体があったり、品質面において日本で新品として売るには物足りないと判断したからです。
そのため、本来よりも10％ほど割安な価格に設定しています。
とはいえ、実力が10％低いわけではなく、素敵なクオリティを持った製品です。
