Ulrich Bass Design is a small handmade bass brand from Germany.
The builder Florian Hertzsch is also a violin maker.
The main feature of this brand is that it is a modern bass with a neat balance of classical techniques and Spanish guitar construction that has been cultivated extensively.
I have met Florian often in Germany, and he is a man with a truly wonderful personality.
He is young, bright, and talented, and I think he will be the one to lead the next generation of the guitar industry.
Nicolo is the latest in the recently released Ulrich Bass Design line.
It is a superb work of art with only one pickup on the bridge side.
The body is made of Ash on the back and Purpleheart on the top.
The semi-hollow body weighs only 3.29kg and produces beautiful overtones.
The neck is 3P Maple and the fingerboard is Birdseye Maple.
The neck is deeply jointed into the body.
The set neck is beautifully jointed.
Harry Haeussel Bassbar pickups and Noll preamp.
Controls are volume, middle, treble/bass.
The volume push-pull switch allows passive use bypassing the preamp.
Tuners are Schaller.
