SHINOS is a guitar amplifier brand launched in 2006 by founder Masaru Shinohara.
Mr. Shinohara, who originally worked as a roadie in the live performance field, develops products based on his experience cultivated in the field.

The brand is highly regarded by professional musicians, with the likes of THE MODS, Mr. Children, and Tatsuro Yamashita known to be loyal users of SHINOS products.

SHINOS&L is a collaboration brand with Masahiro Lee of Lee Custom Amplifier.
The City Bass is a lightweight amp with a pure tube sound.

It is used by Hama Okamoto, Park, and others.

It is a hybrid style with a tube preamp and a Class D power amp.
It is lightweight at 6.5 kg, but has 600 watts of power.

Recently, bass amplifiers have become much lighter, and this lightweight and powerful amp is no longer a rarity.
However, a product that still has appeal is one that has a special sound.

The City Bass has been widely acclaimed since its release, and I recently purchased one personally and touched it for the first time.
I still vividly remember how surprised I was by the texture of the sound, which was like a big and heavy bass amp, like a vintage Ampeg.

The texture is great, of course, but the sound feels bigger.
It was something I thought was missing from modern lightweight amps, and I personally thought that was the reason why big and heavy amps never went away.

That is why I was surprised by the City Bass, which produces a loud sound despite being so lightweight.
That is how we started dealing with City Bass.

I would like to touch on the product specifications.

Turning to the preamplifier section, it is equipped with a total of three vacuum tubes: two 12AX7s and one 12AU7.
The 12AX7s in the third stage circuit are supposed to work like the vacuum tubes in the pseudo power amp section to obtain a full-tube amp-like sound.

There are several D-class amplifiers with only one tube, but there is a reason why this product has three tubes in it.

The controls are simple: Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, and Master.
In addition, there is a Bright and Deep mini-switch and a gain increase by pulling up the volume.

When you turn on the big gain, you get an organic drive sound that is typical of amps.
This is cool.
It has a classic amp-driven character, not the texture of a Darkglass or Sansamp.

The power switch is on the back and the standby switch is on the front.
This standby switch is 3-way, with a phase of + on and - on in addition to the output off.

It seems to show the brand's field-oriented attitude.

This amplifier has an attenuator that allows the output to be switched between 600W, 300W, 150W, and MUTE.
This is very convenient, and the amp is set to 300W for the GIB Yokohama test amp.

At home, 150W would be good, and 600W would fit on a live stage.
If you want to take advantage of the onboard headphone jack and DI OUT only, MUTE is the way to go.

The original concept was to produce a sound like the Fender Bassman 135 with a lightweight amp.
The sound that extends through the walls is convincing.

We invite you to try the best bass amps of our time at our store.
(Of course, the one delivered is shiny and new, not on display in the store, so don't worry!)
