Stem is a brand developed by Sago New Material Guitars, a handmade brand based in the Kansai region of Japan.

Stem occupies a position between Sago, which specializes in custom-order instruments, and Seed, which achieves high quality through excellent quality control while keeping costs down through overseas production.
By standardizing its specifications and body shapes, Stem is known for producing models that offer the high level of quality associated with Sago while keeping costs reasonable.

This model is the Stem version of the Ove, one of Sago's signature models.

The body is made of Alder, with a Rosewood fingerboard, making for a classic wood combination.
The Sago-style wrap finish showcases the instrument's high level of craftsmanship.
The pickups are original L(x)Lite BJ4 units.
The controls are configured as a simple passive system.
A switch is provided for series/parallel pickup switching.
The bridge and tuning machines are made by GOTOH, with no compromises made in the hardware.
The sound has a distinctive low-end impact characteristic of Sago.
While offering a wide modern frequency range, it also produces a rich and dense midrange, allowing it to blend seamlessly into an ensemble.
