Miura Guitars U.S.A. is a brand founded by Hiro Miura, known as the founder of Xotic.

With a commitment to making "good instruments" as a matter of course, they produce meticulously crafted instruments, primarily basses, by Japanese builders.

Their official website also features their connections with bassists such as Joe Hubbard and Derrick Hodge. (Titles omitted)

This instrument is a 5-string MB-2.

The MB-2 is a model that combines traditional looks and sound with modern elements.

It features a JB-like body shape and two soapbar-style pickups.

The color is a 3-tone sunburst, and the pickguard is tortoiseshell.

The vintage-like color scheme gives it a calm and sophisticated look.

The body is made of alder, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood—a classic combination.

Officially, it features a graphite-reinforced maple neck, ensuring stability even with a 5-string.

It's equipped with two Nordstrand Big Single pickups.

These single-coil pickups, housed in soapbar-sized cases, deliver a balance of clarity and thickness reminiscent of a JB.

The preamp is original, offering treble/bass and midrange controls, with the midrange frequency adjustable via a knob and the treble frequency switched via a mini-switch.

This allows for precise adjustment of specific frequency ranges, making it easy to create your desired sound within a band setting.

The master tone control allows for active/passive switching via a push/pull.

Passive mode provides a simple JB-like sound, while active mode delivers a more refined, modern sound, offering versatility in a single instrument.

This guitar combines a classic look with modern functionality.
