Rickenbacker is one of the most traditional guitar brands, enjoying enduring support from musicians worldwide to this day.

This model is a 4001V63 reissue, a reproduction of the 1963 4001.

The 4001 was a higher-end model of the company's first bass, the 4000, with the addition of a rear pickup, and is a historically significant instrument that was succeeded by the current 4003. It has been favored by numerous legendary bassists, including Paul McCartney (The Beatles), Chris Squire (Yes), and Cliff Burton (Metallica). (Titles omitted)

This particular guitar was determined to be from 1991 based on its serial number.

The body and neck are made of maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.

It features a neck-through construction.

The pickups, both neck and bridge, are original.

The bridge has been replaced with a HIPSHOT 5RK400C.

The bridge pickup cover has likely been replaced.

A finger rest is installed.

Due to the maple through-neck construction and body, it features a distinctive dense low-end.

However, it doesn't become overly dark; the slight compression and open nuance are major attractions.

With its unique looks and specifications, yet fully fulfilling the requirements of a bass guitar, this instrument should perform well in heavy ensembles, pop, R&B, and across genres.

The frets have approximately 55% remaining.

The truss rod is functioning well on the bass string side. The treble string side is completely loose.

The neck shows some upward bowing. Currently, it's playable at 2.5mm-3.0mm, 0.5mm higher than the GIB standard.

The body and paintwork show some scratches and signs of use. The paint on the back of the body has discolored in some areas, resembling sticker residue. There is no stickiness.

The electronics are in good condition.
The bridge has been replaced with a HIPSHOT 5RK400C. The bridge pickup cover has likely been replaced. A finger rest has been installed.
