ZON is a bass guitar brand established in 1981.

ZON has several models, but this one is the SONUS, which incorporates a classic style.

Unlike the LEGACY, which has a set-neck construction, the SONUS has a bolt-on neck joint.

It has a quick response and attack, and can be said to be a model that aims for a somewhat Fender-like sound.

The body top uses beautiful figured maple, and the body back uses 2-piece alder.

The neck is made of carbon fiber, and the fingerboard is phenowood, a combination typical of the brand.

Phenowood is made by laminating multiple layers of wood, impregnating them with black dye and hardening resin, and compressing them at high heat.

The wood itself has an extremely low expansion and contraction rate, resulting in stability far superior to that of ordinary wood.

The pickups are Bartolini 72MV5K, and the preamp is a Bartolini NTMB.

While producing a clear and transparent sound, it never sounds inorganic, and the combination with the high-quality wood material outputs a sound rich in harmonics.

The quick and crisp response produced by the carbon neck and phenowood fingerboard is also a major attraction.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck shows some high-head bowing, but it is playable without problems after adjusting the string height at the 12th fret to 2.5mm for the G string and 3.0mm for the E string.

The body and paintwork have scattered dents and buckle scratches.
