This is a 5-string JB model.
The body is Alder, the fingerboard is Indian Rosewood—a classic wood combination.
The pickups are, of course, Vanzandt.
The pots are CTS, the jack is Switchcraft, and the capacitor is Vanzandt-branded (0.047mF)—all top-notch components.
With these classic specs, the playability is pure Fender.
The sound is quintessentially Jazz Bass: powerful low end and punchy highs.
Yet it retains a refined character, offering more than just a copy's appeal.
Surprisingly few 5-string JB models capture this nuance.
This reflects the high bar set for this style, but Vanzandt's JB effortlessly clears it.
Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck shows slight bowing upward, but it plays perfectly fine with our standard string height setup: G string 2.0mm to E string 2.5mm.
The body and finish show scattered minor scratches and dents, plus a large scratch on the back of the body.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
