Sire became famous for releasing basses supervised by Marcus Miller.
The quality of their guitars and basses is exceptionally high, earning them strong support not only from Marcus Miller fans but also from a wider audience.
This is the V3, modeled after the JB bass.
The body is made of mahogany.
High-quality mahogany is readily available in Indonesia, likely the source of this material.
The neck is maple, and the fretboard is rosewood—a classic wood combination.
The pickups are the Marcus Standard J-Revolution Set.
The preamp is the Marcus Heritage-3 with Middle Frequency Control.
While this model is positioned as an entry-level instrument, it uses the same pickups and preamp as the popular V7 series.
It features a tight yet harmonically rich, powerful sound with a moderate amount of compression.
This model is a must-try not only for those aiming for a Marcus Miller-esque sound, but also for anyone simply looking for a high-quality JB bass.
The frets have approximately 80% remaining.
