Description & Condition
Red House Guitars is one of Japan’s leading guitar workshops, handling not only repairs but also OEM manufacturing for many high-end brands.
The quality of their original brand, crafted based on the experience they’ve cultivated, is highly regarded, and top professionals such as Kelly Simon and Yuki Sekiya are avid users of their products.
This is the General J5, a modern JB-style guitar—the style they excel at.
This particular instrument gives the impression of being slightly different from the standard model; it is likely a custom order or a prototype.
The body is made of ash, and the fingerboard is rosewood, giving it a classic look.
While the exact pickup model is difficult to identify, it uses the so-called “cross-wired” lead wires found in Lindy Fralin pickups.
This suggests a classic-oriented design.
The bridge and tuning machines are GOTOH.
A KOZ HEAD ROCKER is mounted on the back of the headstock.
The purpose is reportedly to reduce headstock flex.
While I’d prefer not to comment on the actual effectiveness, I think the willingness to incorporate such conceptual elements is a positive sign.
It plays effortlessly and sounds great—just as you’d expect.
It’s a fine bass.
Approximately 90% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and finish have no noticeable scratches and are in excellent condition.
The electronics are in good condition.
The knobs have been replaced.
