Xotic is a brand founded in LA by Japanese builder Hiro Miura.

In Japan, it is used by Yoshiteru Takahashi, BJ of Indigo Jam Unit, and Katsuji Morioka, and internationally, it is used by many famous musicians such as Chuck Rainey, Rhonda Smith, and Travis Carlton.

The XJ series has been highly praised by studio workers as a line made in Japan.
It's basically made in the Fender manner, but with some modern updates.

The position of the neck joint is a little different from normal, and when you hold it up, you'll notice that it's easier to get your left hand into a higher position.

This is an arrangement for modern musicians who use the entire fingerboard evenly.

This relatively early model has a fretless design. It's rare.
I can't find any traces of frets, so it's probably the original fretless.

It's a little heavy, but I think the body is Alder.
The fingerboard is Ebony.

It's difficult because there is no spec sheet and there is no printing near the serial number, but I think the PU is Lindy Fralin. Maybe it's the original model.

The preamp was from when it was still called Tri Logic.
Probably Tri Logic2. (Sorry if it's wrong)

The sound is neat, with plenty of bass and pleasant overtones.
The playability is also very high, and the overall level is high.

Particularly for session and studio musicians, JBs that have modern performance features and preamps but still have a traditional sound are always in demand.

However, there are not many products that meet this requirement in terms of quality.

I think Xotic XJ is one of the products that will be the best solution to that demand.

The truss rod works well.
The neck is in good condition.
The condition of the body and painted surface shows some dents and scratches. You can see some areas that are yellowish and faded.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modification points were found.

When setting up, I use D'addario EXL, which is highly trusted by professional musicians.
Characterized by a powerful attack and rich overtones, it is a performance worthy of being called a standard.
These are high-quality strings that bring out the maximum performance and character of your instrument, so please enjoy them as well.

GIB's craftsmen have adjusted it to make it easier to play and then deliver it to you.
