The Flying V, released by Gibson in 1958, is an aggressive and unique guitar design. (honorific abbreviation)
Released by Gibson in 1958, the Flying V is a representative model of the deformed guitar with an aggressive and unique design.
It was introduced in 1958 and production ended after a short period of time due to lack of acceptance of its advanced design, but demand grew in the 1960s and it was reproduced in 1967.
This model is based on the Flying V manufactured in 1967, the first year of production.
It faithfully reproduces the large pickguard and sharp head shape characteristic of this period.
This one is made by Custom Shop.
Custom Shop is a special manufacturing division created to fulfill custom orders.
The body top and back are made of maple, and the body sides are made of mahogany.
The archtop body with f-holes and the sunburst color combination give it a traditional look that appeals to everyone.
The solid guitar-like size and chambered full-acoustic body make it very easy to handle and has a good volume and boxy sound.
The unique chambered construction means that the lower part of the bridge is not hollowed out, so the bridge is equipped with a tune-o-matic & stop tailpiece.
This allows the tuned-o-matic & stop tailpiece to provide stability and accurate intonation of each string, while reducing the weight of the body.
The neck is Mahogany and the fingerboard is Madagascar Rosewood.
These are familiar woods for Gibson, but all of them are carefully selected by Custom Shop.
The pickups are Burstbucker 2 and 3, which are reproductions of the 1957 PAF.
The pickups are Burstbucker 2 and 3, which are reproductions of the 1957 PAF pickups, and they produce a powerful yet subtle sound with low noise.
The pickups are very faithful to the picking nuance, and various expressions are possible with the controls at hand.
The bridge is equipped with a Tune-O-Matic + Vibrola tailpiece.
