The Jazz Bass was released as the premium model above the Precision Bass.
Its sharp, clear sound has been cherished by many bassists, maintaining overwhelming popularity to this day and radiating a brilliant presence.
This is the Jaco Pastorius Signature Model Jazz Bass.
It faithfully reproduces the distinctive pickguard-less body and the metal knobs on the control section.
The body is made of Alder, and the fingerboard uses Pau Ferro with a urethane coating.
The pickup is the American Vintage Single-Coil Jazz Bass.
While the sound from the bridge pickup alone might feel a bit lacking if the original low end isn't substantial enough, this instrument possesses a richly full low-end response.
Therefore, even when creating the so-called “Jaco Sound” using only the bridge pickup, it maintains ample low end, consistently holding its position as the bass within the ensemble.
