Description & Condition
Fender is undoubtedly the number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
It's beloved by countless top artists, including Jaco Pastorious, Marcus Miller, and Geddy Lee. (Titles omitted)
The Jazz Bass was released as a premium model of the Precision Bass.
Its sharp, clear sound is beloved by many bassists, and it continues to enjoy overwhelming support and a shining presence to this day.
This Jazz Bass was manufactured in 1973.
The neck pickup volume pot indicates 1973, the bridge pickup volume pot indicates 1971, and the master tone pot indicates 1971.
Taking into consideration the specifications and serial number, we determined it to be a 1973 model.
The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is made of rosewood, a popular specification.
The pickups are gray bobbin, and the pickup date is 8102.
If the last digit indicates the year of manufacture, it would be 1972, but since it's not the standard six-digit number, it may not be original.
The texture appears to be original, but please note that we cannot be certain.
The capacitor may also not be original.
The tuning machines and bridge are likely original.
It has been refretted and re-nutted.
This is why it's in relatively good condition.
I think it will hold up for a long time to come.
This bass has a wonderful balance of clarity and earthiness, typical of a 1970s Jazz Bass.
I recommend it.
Approximately 60% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck has a tendency to bow forward toward the first string. This causes a buzzing sound on the first and second strings when using the GIB standard action height (2.0mm-2.5mm at the 12th fret). To completely eliminate this buzzing sound, the action height needs to be raised by 0.5mm.
The body and paint show signs of use, including dents, scratches, paint peeling, and feather checking. Metal parts are also tarnished. There are traces of screw holes from where the pickup fence, finger rest, and bridge cover were attached.
The electrical system is in good condition.
The guitar has been refretted and re-nutted.
One section of wiring has been replaced.
Controls: Neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, master tone
Nut width: 37.9mm
Bridge string spacing: 19.0mm
Scale: 34 inches

This guitar will be adjusted by a GIB craftsman for optimal playability before shipping.
