Black Smoker is a handmade brand launched in 2016 by the workshop BLACK CLOUD in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture.
The instruments made by two skilled builders with a wealth of experience are supported by many professional musicians such as Shunsuke Ochi, Futoshi Sakai, and Ren Yamamoto.
This model is a 5-string JB model of the TRAD MASTER series, which is a higher-end model.
Classic configuration with Alder body and Rosewood fingerboard.
All painting is done with lacquer and has a beautiful aging finish.
As expected, the sound and playing feel are traditional.
It has plenty of low end, which helps it position itself as a bass in an ensemble.
Although it is a 5-string bass, the punch of the E string is similar to that of a 4-string bass, which is also attractive.
Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod works well.
The neck is in good condition.
As this is a relic model, the condition of the body and painted surface is that there are dents and small scratches throughout. There are no obvious scratches or dents that appear to be new.
