Akima & Neos is a professional amp and effects brand by Akima Tsuneo, guitarist of Marcocias Pump.
Artists who use the company's products include POLYSICS, THE BAWDIES, OKAMOTO'S, Base Ball Bear, and many more.
This product is a bass booster with a germanium transistor made by Mullard in England as its core.
Germanium transistors were commonly used in the 1960s.
Although they are expensive and susceptible to temperature changes, their sound is unmatched.
For example, the RogerMayer “Octavia” used by Jimi Hendrix, and the Tone Bender, considered to be the first fuzz in England, used germanium transistors.
As for this unit, it simply has a beautiful sound with a fat sound and a unique sharry overtone.
I think it is wonderful not only as a booster, but also to leave it stepped on as a preamp.
