Sadowsky is a high-end New York brand whose clientele includes top musicians like Marcus Miller and Will Lee.
While the Metroline Express series was previously manufactured in Japan, production moved to a Chinese factory as Warwick took over distribution of Sadowsky products.
It maintains high quality while keeping the price competitive, making it a uniquely compelling product in its price range.
When the Metroline Express series first launched, it didn't feature the Sadowsky logo, but this has since been successfully changed.
Furthermore, the neck has been upgraded to roasted maple.
It features a satin finish for a smooth, comfortable feel.
The back panel, like Warwick's, uses a screwless design.
Looking inside the cavity, you'll see copper foil tape applied for shielding. Excellent.
The pickup configuration is a PJ type: a Precision Bass-style pickup at the neck and a Jazz Bass-style pickup at the bridge.
The bridge pickup is a hum-canceling type, minimizing the noise often associated with PJ setups.
The preamp circuit board is nearly identical to that found in top-tier models priced around ¥1,000,000, which is a significant advantage.
Controls include volume, balancer, bass, and treble.
A push-pull switch bypasses the active circuit for passive playability.
The powerful, crisp sound comes across as slightly flashier than recent NYC models.
Some might actually prefer this sound profile based on tone alone.
