Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Xotic is a brand based in California, USA.
Known worldwide for its effects pedals such as the BB Preamp and AC Booster, Xotic also produces high-end models in the guitar and bass fields.
The XJ series is manufactured in Japan by a Japanese workshop and in-house builders.
The XJ-1T is a model based on the style of a vintage JB, packed with modern features.
This is the 5-string version.
The body is made of alder, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
This is a classic JB combination, characterized by a sound that balances thickness and clarity.
The color is OTM (Ocean Turquoise Metallic).
The vibrant metallic color is given a subdued look through aging.
The lacquer finish is heavily aged, giving it the look of a vintage instrument that has been played for many years.
The headstock is also a matching color to the body.
It is equipped with two Raw Vintage J-type pickups. The XJ-1T's core sound is built around pickups that prioritize vintage-like nuances.
The preamp is an Xotic onboard preamp with a 3-band EQ.
The mids can be switched between 400Hz/800Hz and the treble between 6kHz/12kHz using a mini-switch, allowing for precise tone shaping.
The neck pickup volume pot has a push-pull switch for active/passive mode, and the bridge pickup volume pot has a push-pull switch for series/parallel mode.
From vintage-like passive sounds to thick, powerful series sounds and modern active sounds, this single guitar can cover a wide range.
The bridge is an Xotic B-Style bridge, and the tuners have lollipop-type keys.
The overall look is also vintage-inspired.
The nut width is 47.1mm, and the string spacing at the bridge is 19.0mm.
These are standard specifications for a 5-string JB.
This 5-string guitar from Xotic combines vintage style with modern functionality, resulting in a highly refined instrument.
