woofy basses is GIB's original brand.

We launched this brand because, while running our shop, we were asked for bass recommendations and needed a brand we could confidently endorse.

Brands like YAMAHA, IBANEZ, BACCHUS, and FENDER are excellent, but since they aren't our own brand, we couldn't exercise full control over them. (We also don't carry some of these brands.)

In that sense, we needed to create basses we could recommend with absolute confidence.

First, we attended trade shows in China, seeking factories where price and quality aligned, and negotiated directly.

After comparing many factories, we successfully partnered with one possessing high technical expertise.

Manufacturing is conducted under rigorous quality control.

After manufacturing in China, we conduct multiple rounds of strict quality inspections.

Only approved instruments are imported. Specialized staff then perform adjustments in Japan, followed by another inspection before shipping.

The ONE series is specifically curated for beginners, focusing on models under ¥50,000.

While we don't claim they match high-end basses, we designed them to provide reliable instruments for “first-time 5-string buyers” and “those starting bass.”

The Poodle 5 is a 5-string PJ-style model.

We aimed for a design that's easy to play and produces a powerful sound.

For beginners, nothing is more important than high playability (ease of playing).

Without this, you won't be able to play the phrases you want because of the instrument itself. It won't be due to lack of practice, but because of the instrument.

For beginners who can't tell whether they can't play something due to lack of practice or because of the instrument, this is crucial.

Factors affecting playability—like the nut, neck curvature, string height, and pickup height—are meticulously adjusted one by one in Japan by our specialist staff.

We adjust each bass specifically with beginners in mind, so you can start practicing confidently the moment it arrives.

We treat every adjustment the same—whether it's for a high-end model costing over 1 million yen, a request from a professional musician, or a woofy bass.

We never cut corners on labor costs.

While pursuing cost-effectiveness, we never compromise on crucial parts directly affecting sound and playability.

For example, we use Belden wire for wiring and Switchcraft #11 jacks for plug connections.

These are standard components used in GIB repairs and are globally recognized as industry standards, employed even by top brands like Fender.

We also paid particular attention to the pickups, the microphones that capture string vibration.

We prioritize achieving clear and distinct articulation.

The neck pickup delivers the characteristic Precision bass richness, while the bridge pickup provides strong high-mids.

Mixing these produces a deep, resonant sound.

While PJ basses can be challenging to balance during mixing, we strive to achieve the best possible balance.

This ensures your playing is heard clearly and distinctly, and allows for well-balanced sound within an ensemble.

While not quite at the level of professional stage gear, we provide a product that beginners can rely on without hesitation.

To be honest, the fretwork isn't perfect.

If you desire it in flawless condition, we can handle refretting at our shop.

That said, it shouldn't be a problem as long as the string height isn't extremely low, so please rest assured.

We do not engage in secondary distribution (wholesale).

By limiting sales to direct sales from GIB, we pursue maximum quality while keeping prices low.
