SIRE uses their own original design for both.
In particular, the preamp is not adapted from the original one for the JB, but a special HERITAGE-3 preamp was developed specifically for the JB.
Controls are volume, treble, middle, and bass.
When the bass knob is pulled up, the preamp can be bypassed and driven as a passive.
This is a positive for many since the original Musicman Stingray did not have a passive option either.
The fretboard and fretboard finish is excellent.
The finish is of high quality, which is not surprising at this price point, but is comparable to higher priced models.
The sound is as expected, with crisp, strong highs and tight lows.
There have not been many options of this type until now, but I feel that a great replica has finally appeared. Highly recommended.
