Sire suddenly became famous as a brand that released basses supervised by Marcus Miller.
The quality of the guitars and basses they manufacture is extremely high, and they are highly supported by people other than Marcus fans.
This is the new product Z3-4.
As you can see, it is a model based on the Musicman Stingray.
The neck has a nice old-fashioned feel to it.
The body material is Mahogany.
Since high quality Mahogany is available in Indonesia, it is likely that this was adopted.
In fact, Musicman doesn't care much about body materials other than appearance, so we may not put much emphasis on them in terms of their effect on the sound. (This is my personal opinion)
For this type of design, the performance and placement of the PU, as well as the preamplifier, are very important factors.
SIRE uses its own original designs for both.
In particular, the preamplifier was not reused from the original JB, but a preamplifier called HERITAGE-3 was developed specifically for it.
Controls are volume, treble, middle, and bass.
By pulling up the bass knob, you can bypass the preamp and drive it passively.
Originally, Musicman Stingray did not have a passive option, so I think many people will view this point as a positive.
The finish of the fingerboard and frets is excellent.
Naturally, in this price range, it is finished with a high quality that is comparable to those in higher price ranges.
The nut width is 42mm, which also follows the style of Musicman Stingray and is a little thicker.
The sound is as expected, with strong highs and tight lows.
Until now, there weren't many options for this type, but I feel like a great replica has finally appeared. Recommended.
