Sire rose to fame as a brand releasing basses supervised by Marcus Miller.
The guitars and basses they produce are of extremely high quality, and are highly sought-after even by non-Marcus fans.
This model is based on the Jazz Bass.
In keeping with Marcus's style, it features an active circuit and is finished with modern classic specifications.
The neck and fingerboard are made of maple.
The fingerboard edges are nicely rounded for improved playability.
Most players will have a positive impression of this specification.
The body is made of ash.
The pickup position is the same as on a Fender '70s JB.
This produces a distinctively tight and powerful sound.
Controls are extensive, including volume, tone, balance, bass, middle, mid frequency, treble, and an active/passive switch.
While it may look complicated at first glance, it's easy to understand for bassists.
It features a tight yet rich overtone sound with a powerful sound that includes just the right amount of compression.
This is a model that is definitely worth trying out for anyone looking for a Marcus-esque sound, but also for anyone simply looking for a high-quality jazz bass.
