Description & Condition
Sire rose to fame as the brand that released a bass supervised by Marcus Miller.
The quality of the guitars and basses they manufacture is exceptionally high, earning them strong support even from non-Marcus fans.
This model is inspired by the traditional Precision Bass.
It is precisely because of its simple style, featuring a passive circuit, that Sire’s high quality really stands out.
The neck features a satin-finished Roasted Maple.
This is also known as Thermowood.
Thermowood, which was first put to practical use in the musical instrument industry by the Japanese company Sago, was originally used in Finland as a building material for saunas.
While Thermowood is highly valued as a wood resistant to high temperatures and humidity, its usefulness for musical instruments is evident from the fact that top-tier manufacturers such as Sadowsky and Suhr have adopted it.
Apparently, a certain amount of Thermowood is discarded during processing.
It’s likely that some of the pieces that might warp in the future will end up being used here.
Sound-wise, it gives the impression of a rich, mature tone.
The fingerboard also uses Roasted Maple.
Unlike the neck, this one has a gloss finish.
The edges are nicely rounded, aiming to improve playability.
Most players will likely have positive thoughts about this specification.
The body is made of alder, a wood that represents an extremely classic style.
The fat yet trebly tone is unmistakably the “P” sound.
I highly recommend giving this a try if you haven’t yet found a Precision Bass that truly satisfies you.
