Sadowsky is a high-end brand from New York that counts top musicians such as Marcus Miller and Will Lee as customers.
Until now, the Metro Line was manufactured in Japan, but as Warwick took over distribution of Sadowsky products, manufacturing moved to the Warwick factory in Germany.
The Japanese-made Metro Line models were already highly regarded, so there were concerns about a decline in quality, but looking at the actual product, there is no need to worry too much.
This is the signature model of Verdine White, bassist for Earth, Wind & Fire.
The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is Morado, the brand's standard composition.
The new Metro Line uses a chambered body like the NYC.
This makes it light, reaching the low 3kg range, and adds a moderate sense of support to the back for playability.
The pickup arrangement is PJ type.
Generally, PJ pickup layouts can cause balance problems when mixing.
This issue seems to have been resolved by using a hum-canceling pickup in the bridge.
Excellent electronics produce a powerful sound even with low string height.
Playability and sound quality are both well-balanced.
Very neat and easy to use, with an eloquent funk sound.
It is also a highly refined PJ bass.
I recommend it.
