Roasted wood, also known as thermo wood, is a new material popularized by Japan's Sago New Material Guitars.
Originally a Finnish technology, it was developed for wood used in saunas.
High-temperature processing evaporates moisture and oils within the wood, resulting in exceptional stability even in hot, humid conditions.
Sonically, it imparts a more refined and rich tone.
The fingerboard radius is finished with a 12-16 inch compound radius.
A compound radius creates a rounder fingerboard shape in the lower positions and a flatter shape in the higher positions.
Generally, a rounder fingerboard radius improves playability but can cause sound blockage in the higher positions.
The compound radius solves this issue.
This technology is adopted by high-end brands like Suhr Guitars and Tom Anderson.
The neck profile is slim and features a neutral C-shape.
The finish is satin.
The pickups are original single-coil designs.
They use original pickups on many models.
