Bacchus is a Japanese brand based in Nagano.
As a brand under Diviser, which owns the large Asuka Factory guitar plant, its high quality—achieved through in-house production—is highly regarded by many musicians.
This model belongs to the WL series, part of the top-tier WOODLINE line.
Its most distinctive feature is the use of roasted maple for the neck and fingerboard.
This is also known as thermowood.
Thermowood, commercialized for musical instruments by Japan's Sago, was originally used in Finland as construction material for saunas.
Thermowood, valued for its resistance to high temperatures and humidity, is clearly useful for instruments too, as evidenced by its adoption by top manufacturers like Sadowsky and Suhr.
It seems a certain amount of thermowood is discarded during processing.
It's likely that pieces prone to warping in the future are also discarded at this stage.
