Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Sadowsky is a brand that began in 1979 when Roger Sadowsky opened his workshop in New York.
Based on his experience as a repairman, working on instruments for many session musicians, his basses have earned immense trust in the New York studio scene.
They are also known for being favored by many top professionals, including Marcus Miller and Will Lee.
Since 2019, Sadowsky has had a licensing agreement with Warwick of Germany. While the NYC custom shop remains, Warwick now handles the production of the Metro and MetroExpress series.
The MetroExpress series is an entry-level series that allows you to experience the Sadowsky sound at a more accessible price.
It is manufactured in Asia and finished under continuous quality control.
This particular instrument is a 21-Fret Vintage M/J Bass, a 4-string model from that series.
It features a JB-style body with a unique configuration combining a J-type single-coil pickup in the neck position and an M-type humbucker in the bridge position.
The bridge humbucker delivers aggressive mids and tight lows, while the neck single-coil provides warm lows.
Both pickups are designed to minimize hum noise, making them clean and easy to use.
Furthermore, a mini-switch allows you to switch the bridge humbucker between series, parallel, and single-coil modes.
This single guitar can cover everything from thick sounds to sharp, characteristic Jazz Bass tones.
The color is an elegant champagne gold metallic.
The transparent pickguard allows the body color to show through, creating a clean look.
The body is made of Okoume, and the neck is made of Roasted Maple.
Okoume is a lightweight wood, contributing to its manageable weight.
Roasted Maple is a material that is said to have increased stability due to its high-temperature treatment that removes moisture.
The fretboard is Morado (Pau Ferro), and its light color and grain complement the metallic finish well.
The circuit features Sadowsky's signature active 2-band preamp.
The controls consist of four knobs: volume, balance, treble, and bass.
Sadowsky's preamp is designed specifically for boosting, adding punchy lows and clear highs simply by turning up the knob, allowing you to quickly achieve your desired sound.
The bass knob's push-pull function allows you to bypass the preamp, giving you the option of using a passive sound as well.
The hardware is also top-of-the-line, featuring a Sadowsky Just-A-Nut III nut, open-gear Sadowsky Light tuners, and a Sadowsky original bridge that allows for quick string changes.
The nut width is 40.2mm and the string spacing is 19mm, a combination of a slim JB-style neck and comfortable string spacing.
This setup makes it easy to play with your fingers.
This guitar combines the classic JB style with the thickness and tonal versatility of a humbucker.
Please take advantage of this opportunity.
