The Fender Custom Shop is Fender's division that produces its finest instruments.
Skilled builders meticulously recreate vintage models down to the smallest detail, and also create one-of-a-kind instruments.
This is a 2003 Master Grade 1964 Jazz Bass Relic.
Based on a 1964 Jazz Bass, it features a relic finish that replicates the look and feel of a well-played instrument.
Master Grade models were produced for only a short period, from 1996 to 1999.
These were planned by the former import agent, Yamano Music, and aimed to faithfully reproduce the specifications of the original instruments with high quality.
Due to their quality and rarity, they remain highly popular today.
The certificate of authenticity indicates it was made in 2003.
The serial number suggests it is a Master Grade model, and it may be either a stock item from that era or a custom-ordered piece.
The body is alder, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
This bass boasts a sound that perfectly balances thickness and clarity, characteristic of 1960s Jazz Basses.
The color is Dakota Red.
